  • May 19, 2020 - Exide files Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

  • October 26, 2020 - Exide Environmental Response Trust assumes ownership of the Site and resumes development of RFI Report.

  • COMPLETE - Revised RFI Report submitted to USEPA February 24, 2021.

  • COMPLETE - The Trust has developed Interim Measures (IM) Investigation Work Plan, dated August 30, 2021; which was approved by USEPA.

  • COMPLETE - The Trust and subcontractors to implemented the IM Investigation Workplan. Initial investigation fieldwork began during the week of October 11, 2021 and lasted approximately 2 weeks. Follow up groundwater monitoring field work was performed on December 7 to 13, 2021. In-situ bio-augmentation study field work was performed on March 8 to 10 , 2022

  • COMPLETE - The Trust submitted the Interim Measures Investigation Report to USEPA on April 20, 2022. Following review and comment from USEPA, a revised Interim Measures Investigation Report was submitted to USEPA on July 29, 2022 and ultimately approved.

  • COMPLETE – The Trust developed an Interim Measures (IM) Remediation Workplan focused on addressing impacts around Monitoring Well (MW)-4. The IM Remediation Workplan was approved by USEPA on July 19, 2023. The work around MW-4 will include excavation and off-site disposal of potential source contaminated materials that are acting as a source of groundwater contamination and using a bio-augmentation technology to enhance remediation of volatile COCs by degrading them. Supplemental investigation of utilities such as sewer lines and the area around MW-1 is also part of the proposed scope.

  • PENDING - The Trust anticipates mobilizing subcontractors to implement the workplan in the second quarter of 2024.
